WHY ‘DIAL 100’ MATTERS NOW MORE THAN EVER

In many rural parts of Bharat, police stations are still seen as places of fear or last resort. The truth is — police are more than just enforcers; they are protectors, listeners, and helpers. Dial 100 is an initiative by Prachanda Bharat to change that perception.

We aim to bridge the trust gap between rural communities and their local police stations by raising awareness, building relationships, and helping people understand the critical support systems already in place.

THE PROBLEM

MISINFORMATION | ISOLATION | LOST HOPE

Many rural citizens:

  • Hesitate to visit police stations even in emergencies, due to fear of harassment or shame.

  • Believe police stations are meant only for settlements or big crimes.

  • Believe that calling the police is 'inviting more trouble' instead of solving.

  • Feel isolated in family or financial crises, leading to helpless decisions like suicide.

  • A lack of awareness about helplines, FIRs, legal rights, legal protection, complaint mechanisms means, people don’t even know what help exists.

Our initiative is our answer — to save lives, prevent exploitation, and empower every citizen to seek help fearlessly.

OUR SOLUTION

REBUILDING TRUST | REVIVING HOPE.

We aim to:

  • Educate villagers on how the police can help in everyday life.

  • Spread awareness of Dial 100 services & what citizens can expect from them.

  • Showcase real examples of police assistance beyond arrests — from family counseling and missing person support to domestic abuse protection and cyber fraud guidance.

  • Encourage people to walk into police stations not just in fear, but in hope and confidence.

Our goal is to ensure that every rural police station becomes a beacon of trust, not fear.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

FROM FEAR TO FAITH — ONE VILLAGE AT A TIME

1

VOLUNTEER NETWORK

Youth from villages can apply to become official Dial 100 Volunteers.

Each volunteer will cover all villages under their rural police station (often 10–20 villages).

Volunteers may collaborate with their friends and family members for wider outreach.

A local constable may accompany volunteers during awareness sessions.

This partnership builds public confidence and shows active support from the police.

It bridges the gap between citizens and police, fostering mutual respect.
